The beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning.
This phrase kept looping through my mind as I looked at the chart for the upcoming New Moon (March 28th)—a super-charged solar eclipse that also happens to be the second eclipse this month. (The first was the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on March 14th.)
But why was I so drawn to this idea of cyclical time? Of things folding into each other, blurring the lines between endings and beginnings? The answer lies in the current celestial landscape: a convergence of planets in Aries and Pisces, two signs that mark the threshold between what was and what’s just beginning.
Aries Season began on the Spring Equinox (March 20th), marking the astrological New Year. As the bold, initiatory Ram, Aries leads the Zodiac, igniting the spark of something new. But we’ve only just emerged from Pisces Season, where energies soften, dissolve, and prepare for spiritual rebirth.
This latest eclipse is operating in an extremely liminal space, straddling both the end and the beginning of the astrological cycle.
Venus and Mercury retrograde will deepen this feeling of reflection, while Neptune at the critical 29th degree of Pisces amplifies this sense of dissolution, transcendence, and finality. Yet just as one cycle completes, Aries rises with fire and forward momentum, calling us to boldly begin again.
All in all, this is a deeply charged New Moon. So, let’s get into the details and crack the cosmic code, so you can make the most of this rare and powerful moment.

What is Happening? A Debrief
Let’s zoom out for a moment and take in the bigger picture surrounding this lunation, so you can feel just how potent this energy truly is.
I want to lay out the overarching themes—the bigger picture and how they all interconnect. Because ultimately, when we practice astrology, we’re searching for relational patterns, the unfolding story, the modern mythos playing out between the planets, and how it reflects and gives context to our experiences down here on Earth.
So, what kind of conversations are the planets having?
What messages are they weaving together?
What’s the deeper invitation of this moment?
Let’s Take a closer look at the Key Players in This Eclipse:
→ Venus Rx in Pisces
→ Mercury Rx in Aries
→ Neptune at the final 29th degree of Pisces, preparing to enter Aries for the first time in 165 years—marking the end of Neptune’s era in Pisces (2011-2025).
→ The Final Eclipse along the Aries-Libra Axis, closing a cycle that began in April 2023.
Meet Me at the Cosmic Corridor at the Beginning & End of Time: The Cosmic Flavoring of this Eclipse

When I visualize the energy of this solar eclipse and everything swirling around it, I see the Ouroboros—the snake biting its tail, a symbol of eternity, cyclicality, death, and rebirth.
This lunation feels like stepping into a cosmic corridor—a black hole where endings and beginnings collapse into one another, devouring and birthing simultaneously. And as the Moon moves to fully obscure the Sun, we arrive at the final eclipse on the Aries–Libra axis—a moment of critical transition, the last flicker of a storyline that’s been unfolding since 2023. Its echoes will ripple through the months ahead.
And as if that weren’t enough, Venus retrograding in Pisces and Mercury retrograding in Aries pull our attention inward—asking us to reexamine what we love, how we speak, and what truly fuels our desire.
Venus Rx in Pisces: Reassessment in Love, Values & Connections
Venus, the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, and values, is currently moving retrograde in Pisces at the time of this eclipse. Anytime a planet retrogrades, the key word to keep in mind is reassessment—a turning inward to reexamine what that planet governs.
So how does this connect to the larger eclipse energy at play? Let me walk you through what I’m seeing.
This is the final eclipse along the Aries–Libra axis, a cycle we’ve been moving through since April 2023. And here’s where Venus comes into sharper focus: she rules Libra, one of the signs at the center of this celestial storyline.
Libra governs relationships, harmony, and balance. Aries, its opposite, rules the self—our identity, independence, and personal will. This axis has been asking us to recalibrate how we show up in partnership and how we assert ourselves in the world.
As Venus retraces her path through Pisces, we’re being asked to pause and reconsider how we relate to both ourselves and others.
Mercury Rx in Aries: A Call to Retreat & Reflect
Mercury, the planet of communication, intellect, and perception is also in retrograde motion in Aries. This tells us that during this eclipse, our mental energy isn’t meant to be projected outward, it’s meant to turn inward. This is not a time for impulsive Aries-driven action, but for thoughtful introspection.
Mercury Retrograde wants you to retreat during this lunation. Go full Hermit mode for a moment. Sit with your thoughts, your feelings, and the spiritual downloads you’re getting at this time.
Neptune at 29° Pisces: The Last Breath Before a New Era
Neptune is positioned at the final, anaretic 29th degree of Pisces, teetering on the edge of a monumental shift into Aries—a move that hasn’t happened in 165 years. This is the final breath of an important spiritual chapter, not just on a personal level, but collectively.
A day after this eclipse, Neptune will officially leave its 14-year transit through Pisces and enter Aries, marking the dawn of a new era.
This transition alone is deeply radical—Neptune has spent over a decade dissolving boundaries, deepening intuition, and weaving deceptive illusions in Piscean waters. And now? It prepares to ignite the fire of Aries for the first time in centuries, shifting our spiritual and imaginative focus from passivity to initiation, from dream to action.
The Final Eclipse in the Aries-Libra Cycle: Karmic Completion
As I’ve been driving home throughout this article thus far, this is the final eclipse in a series of six along the Aries–Libra axis, a cycle that began way back in April 2023. Over the past year and a half, both collectively and individually, we’ve been moving through big karmic lessons around themes like:
→ Independence vs. relationships
→ Self vs. others
→ Autonomy vs. compromise
Now is Your Time to Pause & Reflect:
✦ What relational dynamics or personal identity shifts have unfolded since April 2023?
✦ How have these lessons changed you? And how do you want to integrate them as you move forward?
To support your reflections (or perhaps to help spark them), I’ve included the full list of all the eclipses along the Aries–Libra axis below. Take a moment with these dates. Do any time periods stand out? Were there any significant shifts that happened?

How to Find What This Eclipse Activates for You – Based on Your Rising Sign
Your Rising Sign or Ascendent determines where Aries and Libra fall in your chart and therefore, what area/aspect of life this final Eclipse on the Aries-Libra axis is highlighting for you. Find your Rising Sign below to see where you may feel this lunation most strongly:
Don’t know your rising sign? You can calculate it [here]. Also, a quick note I forgot to mention in my last article:
✦ Be sure to switch your house system to Whole Sign.
If you’re using Placidus which most astrology sites and apps use as the default, the some of the house’s lengths will be unequal, and things may look a bit off… like Aries or Libra showing up in a different house than what’s listed here.
I personally use both Whole Sign and Placidus:
→ I start with Whole Sign to get the overall flow and themes of the birth or transit chart.
→ Then I look at Placidus to pick up the finer details and nuances.
But for this purpose especially if you’re just getting started stick with Whole Sign. It’ll divide the pizza-pie of your chart and the houses evenly and make it way easier to follow along.
Once you know your Rising Sign, scroll down to find out which area of life this powerful eclipse is lighting up for you.

The Eclipse as a Portal: Final Thoughts

This lunation asks us to surrender to the in-between—the liminal space where something is dissolving, and something else is emerging.
It’s helpful to remember that eclipses are thresholds of fast-moving, unpredictable cosmic energy. They’re designed to close one chapter and open another. Occurring near the lunar nodes—those pivot points of destiny and karmic realignment—they act as portals for deep transformation.
And if we look at the planetary lineup, it’s clear that many celestial bodies are poised on the cusp of change—caught between one state of being and the next.
So, take this moment. Withdraw from the noise. Tune into yourself.
Let the eclipse energy move through you like a tide pulling back before a great wave of change.
Because once Neptune moves into Aries, and this eclipse cycle reaches its conclusion, there will be no going back.
Only forward.
And that should feel both freeing and empowering.
Happy New Moon Eclipse.
And Till Next Time, Mythical One,
Ayame (あやめ)
