A powerful King sits serenely in a lush and verdant garden which stands as testament to the abundant land he has carefully and painstakingly cultivated.
His throne is adorned with striking carvings of bulls, connecting him to the zodiac sign of Taurus and reflecting the stability and control he holds over the material world. Clad in a robe embroidered with grapes on the vine, he embodies the wealth and prosperity of the harvest. In one hand, he holds a scepter; in the other, a coin—emblems of his earthly success, gained through his immense discipline and a willingness to take initiative.
This is the King of Pentacles our draw of the week who carries with him the powerful message of how to best apply ourselves in the coming week.
Let’s see what this wise King has to say.

Advice from the king of Pentacles

Last week, I had my mother shuffle my tarot deck and draw a card for all of us to reflect on for the week ahead. She drew the Queen of Pentacles, and this week, when I had her do the same exercise, she drew the King of Pentacles. I don’t know about you but I think it’s significant that, in just two weeks, we’ve received a royal match with both the King and Queen of Pentacles stepping up to guide us.
The messages from these cards are similar: be proactive, check things off the to-do list, and focus on the material world. However, one of the beautiful things about tarot is how the message can evolve over time.
Having the King and Queen of Pentacles showing up in close succession is like having your parents come over to help you move or assemble an IKEA dresser. They show up with a checklist, a can-do attitude, a little ambition, and plenty of coffee, and they’re not leaving until the job gets done—no matter how impossible it seems.
And to color this upcoming week’s energy the King of Pentacles is a steady, unshaken, and encouraging figure. His vibe is very much so that of a father who simply wants you to do your best.
He’s not trying to pressure you to be number one, reinvent the wheel, or change the world in one fell swoop. He’s far more interested in seeing you just put in the effort, take it day by day, and to remember that: applying yourself doesn’t mean breaking yourself in order to succeed.
The King of Pentacles cares deeply about doing well, but he won’t overextend, overexert, or contort himself at his own expense. He’s not interested in being paraded around or treated like a show pony. While he is well aware of his value, he will not sacrifice himself or his worth to appease others, and he refuses to devalue himself to make anyone else comfortable.
And for my darling creatives who are pondering what sets them apart, wondering what uniqueness they have to offer in a world where it feels like every story, idea, or venture has already been done, the King of Pentacles has a simple message for you: don’t worry about reinventing the wheel.
It may feel like everything has already been done, and maybe it has, but not through your unique lens. So, stop worrying about whether it’s “original enough.” Your authenticity—your wholehearted "you-ness" is the key to lasting originality.
Because the end of the day, you can only be who you are, and that is, in part, why the King of Pentacles is so successful because in the end: he is always, unapologetically, himself.
