When was the last time you truly listened?
Not just with your ears, but with your whole heart and soul—listening to the gentle thrums of the world around you. A world both alive and fully aware of you, speaking in a subliminal language that can only be accessed when you soften your mind and open up to the more porous, receptive parts of your being.
This upcoming New Moon in Gemini on May 26th, 2025, marks a turning point, one that will gently nudge you, throughout the rest of Gemini season, to seek clarity on how to move forward.
But that clarity won’t come from pushing ahead with sheer will. It will come from listening to the dialogue unfolding within you, and all around you.
This lunar cycle is really about tuning up and tuning in, allowing your mind to stretch open and receive the sacred guidance that’s been waiting for you to notice it.
And with that said I’m really looking forward to exploring this latest New Moon in Gemini with you, especially how everyday moments might be carrying deeper meaning, how your Mercury placement can shed light on your mental patterns and nervous system, and how Passionflower a powerful herbal ally can support a mind that just won’t quit.
There’s some gentle but powerful medicine in this one, so let’s get into it.
☽ Gemini as Mirror & Messenger: What the World Is Trying to Tell You
A word that floated into my mind as I gazed at the chart for this New Moon was cledonomancy.
From the Greek κληδών, meaning “omen” or “report,” cledonomancy is a form of divination based on interpreting words overheard by chance—messages not spoken directly to us, yet meant for us all the same.
And with that, I understood exactly what guidance I was being asked to share with you under this lunation.
Because nothing said under this New Moon is by mistake. Not the murmur in a crowd. Not the random line in a book that struck you to your core. Not the sign you pass on the street. And certainly not the dream you almost forgot, or the unexpected text or call from an old friend.
On one hand, you could call it apophenia: “The tendency to perceive a connection or meaningful pattern between unrelated or random things” (Merriam-Webster).
Some might say that signs and symbols are just coincidence, our brain’s attempt to create order from chaos. But at its best, this instinct helps us learn, adapt, and deepen our understanding of the world around us.
Whether you believe this instinct is simply a feature of the mind, a reflection of divine intelligence, or some strange combination of both, our ability to find meaning through symbols, synchronicities, and seemingly chance encounters is what connects us. To ourselves, each other and to something greater than what we can currently perceive.
This New Moon in Gemini invites you to lean into that instinct, to become more receptive to the messages life is always offering, both spoken and unspoken.
Let every moment become a quiet conversation with the divine. A mirror, held up by the world around you, revealing something about your own nature.
So whether something is said aloud, sensed subliminally, or appears in succinct repetition, I believe it’s worth listening to with your whole being and asking:
“What is this trying to teach me?”
“What are these core patterns and synchronicities revealing about myself?”
Because Gemini—being the twins is very much like a mirror, or an antenna. It’s designed to absorb everything around it through interaction and engagement. It’s the energy of curiosity, pattern recognition, and real-time responsiveness.
During this season, we become more attuned to the subtle cues in our environment, the nudges that guide us forward, help us pivot, or call us to reconnect with the kind of life and relationships we truly want.
The Inner Architecture of This Lunation: How Mercury and Pluto Inform the Moment

As you can see in the chart above, this lunation makes significant aspects to both Mercury (also in Gemini) and Pluto in Aquarius.
☆ In astrology, an aspect is the relationship between two planets—how they “talk” to each other in the sky. These connections shape the tone of a moment. Some create ease, others spark tension. In this lunation, Mercury and Pluto are forming supportive aspects to the New Moon, helping insight and clarity rise to the surface.
Mercury’s Role Is Especially Powerful Here, and Here’s Why:
-
Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, so it’s already a key player.
-
It’s conjunct the Sun and Moon, meaning: they’re all side by side in the sky.
-
Mercury is also in its domicile (Gemini), where its energy is clearest, sharpest, and the most expressive only seconded by its sign of exaltation (Aquarius).
This creates a kind of cosmic bridge:
-
☽ Moon = your internal world, emotions, and instincts
-
☉ Sun = your external identity and conscious will
-
☿️ Mercury = the messenger between the two, facilitating flow and understanding
When these three align, it's like having a three-way conversation between your head, heart, and higher guidance. Expect insights to arrive quickly, especially if you get quiet enough to listen.
Mercury also rules how information moves through the body and mind, something we’ll explore more deeply in the Medical Astrology section coming up.
Pluto in Aquarius: Quiet, Deep, and Inward
Meanwhile, Pluto in Aquarius is lending subtle but powerful support:
-
It’s forming a harmonious aspect to the New Moon
-
And it’s currently retrograde, pulling its siphon of energy inward
-
Its influence? Think depth, psychological excavation, and inner truth-telling
Pluto’s presence here asks us to move beyond the surface and explore what’s been stirring underneath, AKA the quiet realizations, buried patterns, and long-muted truths.
So My Guidance for This New Moon Is Simple:
-
Keep your ears, your heart, and your mind open.
-
Listen deeply.
-
The messages you’ve been waiting for are already on their way in.
Mercury, the Nervous System, and Herbal Support for Gemini Season

Gemini governs the hands, fingers, and voluntary nervous system, alongside its planetary ruler, Mercury.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, Gemini aligns with the Vata constitution which is a blend of Air + Ether. Vata energy is light, quick, and constantly in motion, but it’s also prone to anxiety, overwhelm, and nervous depletion when unbalanced.
From an alchemical lens, Gemini corresponds to the element of Mercury, associated with the mind and the ever-shifting nature of thought. (Hence the word “mercurial.”)
Mercury: The Nervous Planet
In Medical Astrology, Mercury is often called “the Nervous Planet” because it governs how we process stress, stimuli, and information.
It plays a major role in our ability to:
-
Focus
-
Adapt
-
Comprehend
-
Connect the dots between our inner and outer worlds
Mercury acts as a messenger between the mind, the body, and the spirit—helping us connect what we think, feel, and experience.
Your Mercury Placement = Your Nervous System Blueprint
A beautiful exercise under this New Moon is to explore your Mercury placement in your birth chart by asking yourself:
-
What sign is my Mercury in?
-
Does it fall into one of the Health Houses? (1st, 6th, 8th, or 12th)
🔍 Not sure where your Mercury is? You can find your Mercury sign and house by pulling up your birth chart using a free tool like Astro.com or the TimePassages app. Look for the ☿ symbol and the zodiac sign it’s in which shows how your mind works, and your house shows where that energy shows up in your life.
Even more important than the house is the sign Mercury is in, because that reveals how the messenger planet’s energy is moving and manifesting throughout your body and mind.
For example, I have Mercury in Scorpio in the 8th house.
This gives me laser-sharp focus and the ability to tunnel into a topic for hours—sometimes days, even years. But it also makes me prone to mental spiraling and intense emotional processing.
The 8th house often speaks to chronic mental health challenges, and in my case, that means I need to stay especially mindful of my mental landscape—particularly during the darker, colder months when my seasonal depression tends to flare up.
If You’re Feeling Extra Mentally Wired This Lunation...
You’re not alone.
With Mercury activated, you may notice:
-
A hyperactive nervous system
-
Difficulty focusing or calming mental chatter
-
And a desire for clarity but without the stillness to find it
Which brings me to one of my favorite herbal allies for moments like this...
Herbal Support for Gemini Season: Passionflower

✦ Name: Purple Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata L.)
✦ Planetary Ruler: Mercury ☿
✦ Energetics: Neutral, cooling
✦ Herbal Actions:
-
Nervine – Balances the nervous system
-
Sedative – Promotes rest & sleep
-
Antispasmodic – Relieves tension
-
Anxiolytic – Reduces anxiety
Passionflower, also known as Purple Maypop, is indigenous to the Americas and was first used medicinally by the Aztecs (Herbrally).
I think of Passionflower as the great mind unwinder—especially helpful for those who struggle with circular thinking and insomnia tied to mental overactivity.
Passionflower works on the GABA receptors (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid)—the brain’s main calming neurotransmitters. These help regulate the nervous system and reduce overexcitation.
Clinical Highlight:
“While many plant extracts contain amino acids, Passiflora extracts were found to have the highest GABA content of 21 examined plants… and are able to induce direct GABAA currents in CA1 hippocampal pyramidal neurons.”
— Carratù et al., 2008 (PMC Study)
I consider Passionflower a poster child for Mercury-ruled herbs, as many Mercurial plants have a powerful influence on nervous system regulation.
Bonus Uses:
Its antispasmodic actions also make it a great ally for:
-
Nervous tics
-
Muscle cramps/spams
-
Parkinson’s-related tremors
-
Seizure activity
Personally, I love combining Passionflower with other calming herbs like Hawthorn (Crategeus Spp.) and Motherwort (Leonurus Cardiaca) for:
-
Chest-based anxiety (fluttery tension, heart palpitations)
-
Nervous indigestion
-
Grounding the overthinking mind into the body
You can work with Passionflower on its own or in formulas—as a tea, tincture, or glycerite. For deeper nervous system support, I love blending it with herbs like Hawthorn and Motherwort. Try it as a calming bedtime tea, a dropper of tincture during anxious moments, or a gentle daily ritual to support emotional balance.
Wrapping Up: What This Gemini New Moon Is Really Asking of You
Gemini often gets dismissed as superficial, focused only on the surface level of communication, especially when compared to the perceived emotional depth of signs like Scorpio or Pisces.
But that’s a misunderstanding.
Sure, Gemini energy can flit from thought to thought like a butterfly riding a breeze—quick, playful, and seemingly without pause. But that movement doesn’t come from a lack of depth.
It comes from a deep desire to absorb and understand everything, what’s happening within us, around us, and between us.
Gemini’s gift lies in its ability to take in a flood of information from all directions, to weave it together, and to explore it from every angle and perspective.
Which is why before we part, I want you to take this lunation as a sign to slow down and really tune into what’s been showing up for you lately.
The signs.
The symbols.
The reoccurring themes.
The strange synchronicities that keep catching your eye.
What’s trying to speak to you through your environment right now?
What messages have been quietly repeating themselves, waiting for you to notice?
Because, like I said earlier Gemini is like a mirror or an antenna. It’s built to absorb, to reflect, and to receive guidance through interaction and active engagement. It teaches us to become more receptive to the information life is already offering us right here, in real time.
This is a powerful time to really tap into the divine consciousness of your own mind. The part of you that’s been quietly gathering insights all along. And to trust that the clarity you’ve been seeking is already on its way.
Are you listening?
Happy New Moon and Till Next Time, Mythical One,
