Tarot Advice for Your Week Ahead: The Queen of Wands: Inviting in More Levity and Joy

Queen of Wands tarot card held in hand against lush greenery, symbolizing confidence, joy, and the call to embrace play, spontaneity, and personal power this week.

A radiant woman in golden robes sits confidently on a throne adorned with lions—symbols of strength, boldness, and her deep connection to the zodiac sign of Leo. In one hand, she holds a wand, a testament to her great power and the mastery of will. In the other, a sunflower, echoing her joy, warmth, and magnetic presence.

At her feet rests a small black cat, a nod to her deep intuition and untamed independence. She may radiate light, but make no mistake: this woman moves on her own terms.

This is the Queen of Wands, our card for the week, here to guide us toward brighter, lighter days ahead.

Let’s get into it.

Advice from the Queen of Wands

Hand holding the Queen of Wands tarot card with keywords energetic, charismatic, and fun—inviting play and personal power for the week ahead.

Looking back at the past few weekly tarot readings I’ve done, there were three weeks during Taurus season where I was pulling nothing but studious, grounded, and efficient Pentacles. And I don’t know about y’all, but for me I’ve been grinding like crazy this Taurus season working with rarely a moments rest, lots of deadline crunches, and always wondering where all the time miraculously goes.

While I’ve gotten a lot of good stuff done in these past few weeks I haven’t done anything fun or spontaneous in awhile, rather I’ve been getting so entrenched in the daily responsibilities of life and work. Where the highlight of my evening is slipping into a cute silky pajama set at 8PM, cracking open The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, and trying to read a single paragraph before failing and passing out.

Which is fine but you gotta shake it up every now and then.

All that to say: the Queen of Wands shows up when it’s time to invite more play, creativity, pleasure, and spontaneity into your life—especially if you’ve been pouring most of your time and energy into your career, studies, family, kids, or E.) all of the above. This week’s message is an invitation to spice things up, to let loose, and to do something purely for fun and on your own terms. Something that stimulates your spirit, and allows you to rebel and break free from the mundane even if only for a little while.

Because the Queen of Wands is a rebel at heart, and some of the most rebellious things she’s does is partake in radical joy purely for herself.

Straying from the routine to be, do, or create may look different for everyone. Take my sweet mom for example: she’s been wanting to get back into painting but felt overwhelmed by the pressure to "make something meaningful." Instead, she’s started doing one simple doodle a day in her journal just for fun. No end goal, no pressure. Just the joy of creating something because she can and it’s what she wants to do.

Even if you're still really busy this week checking things off your to-do list and showing up for everyone else, where can you sneak in a little wonder? A dash of delight? If life’s been feeling a little too serious lately, this is your reminder to get a little wild, be spontaneous, and to let yourself play around a bit more.

Because yes, you can be ambitious, professional, and focused and still make space to laugh, create, and enjoy the ride. The Queen of Wands teaches us that our experience of life is something to be savored down to the very last drop.

So don’t allow the days of this week to pass you by without stopping to create a little radical joy for yourself.

Till Next Time, Mythical One,
